Where are you located?

Tokyo Ryokan is located in Asakusa, direct train from/to both Haneda Airport and Narita Airport. One of the Shi-ta-ma-chi towns of Tokyo downtown, you can experience the atmosphere of Edo, the old Tokyo. It is 5 min. walk to nearest metro station Tawaramachi (G18) on Tokyo Metro Ginza Line (Orange Color). Asakusa station is about 10 min. walk. JR Ueno station is slowly 15 min. walk. What is the fastest and easiest way to Tokyo Ryokan from NRT? and from HND?

NRT (Narita Airport) : Please take Keisei Skyliner (about 45 min., 2,570yen) to the last stop, Keisei Ueno station (all Skyliner is terminated at Keisei Ueno station). Transfer to Tokyo Metro Ginza Line for Tawaramachi station (G18), takes 3 min. costs 178yen or 180yen. Tokyo Ryokan is about 5 min. walk from Tawaramachi station. HND (Haneda Airport) : Please take KEIKYU (Kei-hin Kyu-ko) train, but NOT Tokyo Monorail. KEIKYU has direct train service to Asakusa.......from Terminal 3 station, it costs JPY599 or JPY610, and takes about 36 minutes.......from Terminal 1-2 station, it costs JPY635 or JPY650, and takes about 38 minutes.

TAXI ride is easy and convenient, costs around 500yen - 1,000yen depending on which exit of which station (either Asakusa station or Ueno station or Tawaramachi station) direct to the entrance of Tokyo Ryokan.

 

Is there curfew? Do we have to vacate the room during day time?

There is no curfew. But please consider others probably sleeping during night time. Tokyo Ryokan is not a party house. After 20:00 (08:00pm), please inquire us in advance, we shall have you prepared for the key for the entrance, which should be done at your check-in time. You are welcome to stay in your room during daytime until the last day of your checking out (10:00am).


Possible early-check-in and late-check-out available?

Check-in time is between 14:00 and 20:00 (08:00pm).
Check-out time is before 10:00am.

Early-check-in is available upon arrival at JPY1,000 a person. Please ask us when you arrive at Tokyo Ryokan. Availability and time condition varies.

We are sorry, late-check-out is not available. Latest check-out is 10:00AM of your last day, please. We would like to recommend that you'd book one extra night/day, should you need to depart Tokyo late in the afternoon, for example, for your night bus/train/flight. Or, please consider useful coin lockers all sizes available at Ueno/Asakusa/Tawaramachi stations.

 

Does room have air-condition? Is there a room with toilet and shower?

Each room is heated in winter, cooled in summer, at good eco temperature. There is no extra cost for the air-condition. Shower room (communal use with lock inside) is available for 24 hours with hot/cold water. No extra charge required. There is no en-suit, there is no attached shower nor attached toilet. All facilities are in communal use. Tokyo Ryokan has 3 guest rooms, and a toilet and a shower room. Thank you so much for your sincere caring to share our facilities with other guests.

NOTE : Shower and toilet will be all yours if you book All-3-Rooms at once.

 

Is there public bath near Tokyo Ryokan?

There is a public bath called KotobukiYu near Tokyo Ryokan. It is only 500yen per one adult, and opens 11:00am - 25:30 (01:30am).

 

Is there any laundry service?

Not inside Tokyo Ryokan, but within 3 minutes short walk from Tokyo Ryokan (on your way to Ueno Station) before KotobukiYu public bath. There are coin operated laundry machines opening 06:00am - 23:00 (11:00pm).

 

Any amenities?

Very sorry, no amenities, we do not provide bathrobe, tooth brush, tooth paste, yukata ....... therefore, it is advisable to bring your own, please. There is only one hair-dryer available for all three rooms. No worry for basic night. There is a towel, feather pillow (please ask us for buckwheat-husk if you have allergy on feather) and sleeping facilities with sheets provided. Only Japanese style futon on tatami mat, but there is no western bed available.

 

Meal provided at Tokyo Ryokan?

We are sorry, but there is no meal served at Tokyo Ryokan. We would like to actually recommend our good neighorhoods, yes, there are so many delicious cuisines in a short walking distance.

 

Bicycle rent, rental bike, anywhere nearby? Also PRIUS, GT-R, LEXUS, and more!

Tokyo and more cities/towns have docomo bike share and Hello Cycling.

We also would like to recommend Nippon-Rent-A-Car and Toyota-Rent-A-Car both nearby us.

What is life without motor bike? We always recommend Japan-Bike-Rentals.

Which card can be used to withdraw Japanese Yen?

VISA, VisaDebit, PLUS, MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus, AmericanExpress, DinersClub, JCB, China UnionPay and DISCOVER can make withdrawals at the following locations throughout Japan.
